Welcome to Edition 2 of AusIndustry's online bulletin, AusFocus.

The recent floods in Australia have besieged an area larger than France and Germany combined. Along with the other natural disasters which have recently hit Australia, many businesses are suffering and now is the time to tap into government assistance to make life easier. For detailed information on disaster relief for small business, read AusFocus' 'Our Highlights' section.

This edition of AusFocus highlights one of our hard-working regional managers in Southern Queensland and Northern Coastal New South Wales, Suzette Sutton. We also hear from our portfolio Ministers: Senator the Hon Kim Carr, Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research and Senator the Hon Nick Sherry, Minister for Small Business.

To see what some of our innovative customers are doing, be sure to take a look at the feature articles on the 'Our Customers' page.

Check out AusFocus' 'Our Programs' page to learn about Round 7 of our Green Building Fund program. There's also a great story on an innovative Bendigo-based company reaping the benefits from their spending on research and development.

Enjoy the issue.
