Automotive Transformation Scheme information sessions

REMINDER EMAIL - if you have not already booked to attend an ATS information session, please do so to avoid disappointment

AusIndustry invites you to attend an information session for the $3.4 billion Automotive Transformation Scheme (ATS) for 2011. The information sessions will also focus on the key administrative elements of the scheme.

The ATS is an integral component of the Government's New Car Plan For A Greener Future. The ATS comes into effect on 1 January 2011, replacing Stage 3 of the Automotive and Competitiveness and Investment Scheme (ACIS).

The information sessions will be valuable for representatives of companies that are registered in ACIS and seeking to transition into the ATS, industry participants not currently registered for ACIS, and industry advisers.

Important topics being covered in the sessions include:

  • Transitional arrangements for current ACIS participants
  • Eligible investment and production claims
  • Transfer of registration and investment
  • New reporting requirements
  • Interest payments on scheme debts
  • Internal reconsideration of decisions.

All participants will be eligible to claim up to 15 per cent of their investment in approved plant and equipment and up to 50 per cent of their investment in approved research and development. Motor vehicle producers will also be able to claim assistance against production of motor vehicles or engines.

Applications for registration for 2011 in the ATS must be lodged with AusIndustry before 1 January 2011.

Tea and coffee will be available from 9am. Sessions start at 9.30am.
